Stand For Sudan Vigil
Silmiya silmiya - Sudan Vigil
On Sunday 23rd June we held a peaceful Sudan vigil in the city centre of Leicester.
This was to raise awareness and show our support for the people of Sudan.
The people in Sudan were going through a crisis in which innocent civilians were being beaten and murdered with absolutely no one to rely on.
Alhamdulillah, through the immense global and online support; Sudan had finally made progress.
Finally, they were progressing towards a more widely accepted method of rule.

During this event, we had a total of around 120 individuals travelling from around the UK and predominantly Leicester.
We also had approval of the Leicestershire police to ensure all security measures were in place during such a peaceful protest.
Essentially, our local community wanted to take part and stand in solidarity for Sudan.
This was to show that across the world, in a city called Leicester; there are many that care and would do more in person than just changing a profile picture.
